1. Purpose & Mission
PizzaCalc was created to provide consumers, event organizers, and home bakers with mathematically sound, transparent tools for evaluating pizza dimensions, pricing, and recipes. We believe that consumers make better financial and culinary decisions when provided with objective, verifiable data rather than marketing assumptions.
2. Calculation Standards & Verification
All interactive utilities across our platform are built upon open mathematical principles and authoritative public benchmarks:
- Euclidean Geometry: Two-dimensional surface areas are calculated using standard circular formulas ($A = \pi \times r^2$). Slice angles, arc lengths, and crust sector percentages use Euclidean circular sector formulations.
- Baker's Percentages: Dough formulas adhere to international culinary standards where total flour weight equals 100%, scaling hydration, salt, yeast, and oil proportionally.
- Public Nutritional Baselines: Nutritional estimates reference foundation food benchmarks from USDA FoodData Central and published corporate disclosures. These calculations are informational estimates and do not replace professional dietary counseling.
- Food Safety Guidance: Food storage limits and temperature advisories follow official USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) recommendations.
3. Editorial Independence & Non-Sponsorship
PizzaCalc is 100% independent. We do not accept payment, free meals, sponsorships, or corporate incentives from any commercial pizza chain (including Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Little Caesars, Costco, or Jet's Pizza) in exchange for favorable placement, ranking, or promotional coverage. All price and dimension comparisons reflect publicly available consumer menu rates.
4. AI Usage & Human Curation Policy
We believe in complete transparency regarding modern technology. While algorithmic tools and large language models may be utilized for formatting assistance, syntax structuring, or code optimization, all calculation logic, dimensional data, mathematical formulas, and editorial articles are curated, reviewed, and verified by human contributors prior to publication.
5. Corrections & Errata Policy
We take mathematical precision and data accuracy seriously. If a pizza chain adjusts its pan diameter, changes its regional crust recipe, or if an arithmetic error is discovered in one of our guides:
- Reporting Errors: Readers, bakers, and pizzeria operators can submit corrections via our Contact Page or by emailing support@pizzasizecalculator.com with the subject line "Data Correction".
- Review Cadence: Inquiries are reviewed within 24 to 48 business hours. We verify submissions against official chain documentation, menu photos, or receipts.
- Public Corrections: Substantive factual or mathematical adjustments will be promptly updated on the affected page, accompanied by a revised timestamp and, where appropriate, an errata acknowledgment note.
